Can you hear me now?

Even bad ideas can make some people really rich.
This from today's NY Times, under the headline "He Tested the Market."

Paul Marcarelli, the horn-rimmed pitchman for Verizon Wireless who asks, “Can you hear me now?”, has just sold a two-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village for $1.255 million.... Public records show that he bought it in 2006 for $1.19 million.... Mr. Marcarelli has been Verizon’s “test man” since 2002. He is a founding member of a theater company as well as a film production company, Table Ten Films.
